A bit more about me
My name is Louise and I live in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire. I support families through pregnancy, birth and beyond in St. Neots, Cambridge, Bedford, Peterborough Milton Keynes, Royston, Stevenage and surrounding villages.
Whether you are a first-time parent or have children already, having a new baby is a different experience every time. As a mum of three children, I understand that the care you receive during your pregnancy, labour and after giving birth can be outstanding, however, when you don’t have the assistance from professionals, it can often feel like an overwhelming and daunting experience.
I have supported women throughout pregnancy and birth for many years but as my children are now older, I have decided turn my passion into a career and completed my Doula training with Nurturing Births. I am enthusiastic about the physiology and psychology of giving birth; this is why I became a doula.
I have a desire to continue the care that you receive after having your baby by supporting new parents with feeding, sleeping routines, baby massage and yoga or just simply having someone to talk to. I have vast experience with caring for newborn’s and babies through previous job roles within maternity services, also first-hand experience whilst raising my own children.
I completed my baby massage and yoga instructor course with ‘Hands on Babies’ and have loved watching the babies reaching major milestones like lifting their heads, rolling over, crawling and walking. I have facilitated baby massage and yoga courses in my local area and thoroughly enjoyed these classes as I met some amazing new parents who formed lasting friendships with each other. I also teach 1:1 sessions, tailoring massage and yoga to the family’s needs and desires.
I regularly volunteer at my local NCT groups, supporting the parents informed choices and signposting them to support that might be useful. I also enjoy attending the local breastfeeding drop-in clinics as I like to meet parents and hear about their feeding journey.
I am currently studying to become an Antenatal teacher and Postnatal practitioner. When I complete my qualification, I can facilitate antenatal and postnatal courses to empower new parents but also give refresher courses to parents who already have children.
I love to support families during these special times and milestones. I feel it is a special privilege to be invited into a new family’s space and empower them in the decisions they make.
I am happy to travel up to 40 miles from St. Neots to provide support for new parents.
